Prerequisites
Before starting, ensure the following:
- An active absentify account with admin rights.
- An active timeghost account with admin rights.
- Internet access and an updated web browser.
Preparing for the integration
Set your time zone
Ensure that time zones in both timeghost and absentify are synchronized:
- In absentify, navigate to Settings > General and confirm the company’s time zone.
- In timeghost, go to My Profile and set the time zone to match the company default in absentify.
Add users to timeghost
Ensure all users whose absences you wish to synchronize from absentify are added to timeghost:
- Go to Workspace > Team > Invite user in timeghost.
- Add the email addresses of the users.
Set up user schedules
Match each user’s schedule in timeghost with their schedule in absentify:
- In timeghost, navigate to Workspace > Team, click the three dots next to a user, and select Settings > Working hours.
- In absentify, refer to Setting up a user’s schedule for detailed instructions.
Setting up the integration
Step 1: Access your absentify account
Log into your absentify account here and ensure you have admin rights.
Step 2: Navigate to integrations
Go to the Integrations section in the absentify dashboard to manage all third-party connections.
Step 3: Select timeghost integration
Find and select the timeghost integration option in the list.
Step 4: Authorize the connection
- Click Configuration > Add new timeghost synchronization.
- Authorize the connection between absentify and timeghost. You can create multiple synchronizations for different workspaces or departments.
Step 5: Customize the connection
- Name your connection.
- Select the departments and leave types to synchronize.
Only the selected departments and leave types will be synchronized. Ensure these settings meet your organization’s requirements.
Step 6: Add the API key
- In timeghost, go to My Profile and copy the API key.
- Paste the API key into the absentify configuration and click Next.
Step 7: Configure settings
- Define how absences from absentify should sync with timeghost.
- Specify the timeghost workspace and whether to include past absences.
Step 8: Test the integration
Test the integration to ensure data synchronization works correctly. Check if absences from absentify are accurately reflected in timeghost.
Managing and monitoring the integration
Delete a timeghost connection
To delete a timeghost connection:
- Navigate to Settings > Integrations.
- Click the trash icon next to the connection you want to remove.
If you plan to re-add the connection, activate the toggle to remove all previous syncs and avoid duplicates.
